Training

Informed by up-to-date research, including theoretical and practical approaches, all of our training focuses on the development of good support practices that understand the impact of neurodivergence (particularly autism and ADHD) on an individual's thinking and learning.

Spectrum First are launching Spectrum First Professional to support the development of both capable, enterprising individuals and workplace environments that promote truly inclusive practices. We want all professionals to excel in their workplace, for all neurotypes to be celebrated, and to realise both their own and their organisation's potential.

This may be through autism or ADHD specialist workplace performance coaching, career and enterprise development mentoring, job-seeking support, or workplace assessment; or through our innovative support packages tailored to autistic and ADHD graduates and start-up programs for neurodivergent business owners. Additionally, we offer ongoing CPD accredited opportunities to support each organisation in developing an enhanced understanding of autism and ADHD.

In keeping with the ethos of Spectrum First, all funds generated from each corporate package sold will be used to "pay it forward" to those newly entering the workforce or considering starting their own enterprises. Watch this space…..

Spectrum First provides a number of courses and other services to organisations:

  • 'Neurodiversity Acceptance' is a 3 hour in-house course, delivered in person, to up to 20 delegates. This course is for any employee who wants to know more about neurodiversity, why we should care about it, and how to support neurodivergent colleagues
  • 'Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Creating an Environment where Everyone Can Thrive' is a full-day in-house course, delivered in person, to up to 20 delegates. This course is for everyone and looks in more detail at common strengths of neurodivergent employees and challenges that they may face, the benefits to the company of supporting neurodivergent employees, and how best to lead neurodiverse teams at work
  • 'Leading Neurodiversity in The Workplace - CMI Level 7': This transformative program is your key to unlocking new levels of leadership excellence with insightful models, comprehensive exploration and practical steps to apply neuro-inclusive leadership to benefit you, your diverse individuals, your team and your organisation
  • Workplace Coaching: For neurodivergent employees, to help them succeed in their work environment, understand their neurodivergence, feel supported by their employer, mitigate any stressors, identify and implement reasonable adjustments, and develop a personal toolkit of strategies based on critical neurodiversity and coaching theory to support them in their working life. This service can be accessed either via private payment or the Access to Work scheme
  • Workplace Assessments: Everybody is more productive when they are comfortable within their work environment and with the people around them; this is no different for autistic and ADHD people. A workplace assessment helps organisations to identify barriers in the environment that could hinder neurodivergent staff and suggests adjustments that can be made to help your employees reach their full potential
  • Management Consultation: One-to-one support from one manager of neurodivergent employees to another, including effective communication, meeting the needs of neurodivergent staff through positive management, how to recognise when employees might be struggling, and how to build relationships with neurodivergent employees
  • Enterprise Development Mentoring: to help better understand, support and utilise individual team members' skills, this service is primarily for autistic and ADHD people working in senior management roles, however it can be adapted to provide mentoring for those who manage neurodiverse teams
  • Ongoing support to the organisations who use Spectrum First as a training provider, through CPD accredited courses in developing an enhanced understanding of autism and ADHD.
